THE SUMMARY OF SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION (HOW TO GET A POTITION IN THE FIRST PAGE OF GOOGLE’S SEARCH RESULTS)

I have written about this before. But, I like to rewrite about this topic. Search Engine Optimization is not an easy thing, and there is no guarantee that your efforts will bring a good result. I’m a beginner in this blogging world, but I think God helps me to understand about this stuff.

Before you start the whole process, I just want you to know that as a beginner you will need a lot of luck to win the competition. But the most important to make you win the competition is the knowledge. SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION is a combination of a lot activity. One single mistake can make the whole process worthless.

So, I’ll explain the whole process step by step.

#1 Step…Preparation

Consider it that you don’t have any blog, and you’re going to create your first blog. The first activity to be done is to choose your blog’s theme. What topic you are going to write in your blog? For example your topic is Home Based Business
Next activity is to create your blog in blogger.com. Make sure you use a template that has a left position main area. It means your article will be shown on the left side and the gadgets on the right side. Why? It’s because the spider crawls from the top-left side to the bottom-right side. Make sure the spider find your article before your gadgets? Why??? It’s all about your keywords.
Next,….create your article. Each time you want to create an article, you must do some keywords research. For example, your article will talk about Affiliate Program. Open the GOOGLE EXTERNAL KEYWORDS TOOL. Type AFFILIATE PROGRAM in the keywords box. Enter the anti-spam code and click on GET KEYWORDS SUGGESTION button. Wait for the result, you will see a list of keywords with their data. Try to choose a low competition keywords. You can find a keywords with nearly empty competition bar. But, make sure you choose a keywords that has a good search volume. Now, write your article and spread the keywords in your article. You don’t need to repeat the keywords more than four times, but make sure that your article’s title contains the keyword.

#2 Step…On-Page Optimization

Now it’s time to optimize your webpage. It’s needed to make the spider feels happy when it visits your blog. We give the information that spider needs to classify your blog in its index.
Put the title and meta tag in your blog’s HTML. How to put the meta tag and title tag? Just read my META TAG AND TITLE TAG article. It is very important factor in search engine optimization…
Make sure that your blog’s title and your article’s title contain the keywords
It’s good to use label for your article. You can add labels on your article when you create the article. Make sure that the label contains your keywords.
If you want to create another article that is not related to your blog topic. It’s better for you to create another blog. Remember, one Google Account can be used to create many blogs. Just click on create blog link on the top right side of your dashboard. If you try to blend another topic in to your blog, It will hurt the relevancy of your blog to its basic pattern. Since I joined a paid review program, I try my best to keep my blog on its basic form.
Put the keywords in your Widget’s Title and if you use image, please use ALT attribute in its HTML. The ALT attribute must contains the keywords.

So, if you do this, The spider will love your blog and can find the main color of your blog easily.

#3 STEP….OFF-PAGE OPTIMIZATION
Even if your blog is beautiful as miss universe, it will bring nothing if spider can’t find it. Do you know what I mean? So the last process is to make the spider can easily find your blog.

Do you ever think, why we named the robot as spider? Coz it crawl from a website to other website. It can’t arrive to a website if there is no web connects the website. The web connection is the link on the other webpage. So, we are going to build a lot of links that directed to your blog
You can build link by doing some link exchange, or pay for a PPC advertisement, or posting your link in a forum, bookmarks services, and other webpage

Hahahaha….it will need a lot of backlinks to get PR3 above for your blog. You can open a PR 3 above blog and count the number of backlinks. If you can create those backlinks, I guarantee that your PR will be lifted up.

Is that all?…well, I have my last suggestion for you, before your blog listed in Google, you can promote your blog manually by inviting others bloggers to visit your blog.

I do this and my four months old blog is being listed in google first page for 46 keywords…. If you are a new blogger, just enjoy the process coz it will take one month to see some results.

Blogger Manual: CREATE A YAHOO MESSANGER ON-LINE STATUS ON YOUR BLOG

Today, my blogger manual will explain about Yahoo messenger On-line Status. Yahoo messenger on-line status is a gadget that can tell your visitor if you’re on-line or not. Nowadays, there is a lot of On-line status that you can choose. But, I’m going to give you the animated On-line Status, and it also has a lot of variation.
If you want to use this Yahoo Messanger On-line Status on your blog. You can follow this simple procedure:

Go to http://www.freecustomize.com
Choose the image you like by clicking on the right-left arrow
When you find the image you like, you can activate its checkbox
Scroll your screen and you can see a box to type in your Yahoo ID. Remember, It only ask for your ID. Do not type @Yahoo.com. For example, if your ID is bloggermanual@yahoo.com. You only need to type bloggermanual
When you finish to type your Yahoo ID, click on GENERATE CODE
You will be given a HTML code. All you need to do is to copy the code and paste it on your blog.

Sign in to your Blogger Account
Choose Layout
Click on Page Elements
Click on Add a Gadget and a new window will appear
Click on HTML/JAVASCRIPT

Blogger manual | How can I get a lot of targeted traffic to my blog?

Targeted traffic? It's an old topic in my blogger manual. Targeted traffic means the traffic that comes to your blog because they are looking for something that is provided by your blog. If your blog is a personal blog then you wont need this. But, if your blog is a business blog, then you’ll need for targeted traffic…badly. In the future, targeted traffic means a lot of income to your pocket. Do you really need a lot of targeted traffic to visit your blog?

How can we get a targeted traffic? Well, it’s going to be a very simple thing, but I guarantee you, that it wont be easy at all…. Most of the targeted traffic is come from the search engine. So our big job is to make our blog listed in the first page of the search engine…. Well, I know that lot of people will bend their face…. Hahaha… there is no other way...

Get targeted traffic from Search Engine

What do you need to do to make your blog listed in the first page of Google and other search engines? There are two process you need to be done:
1. On-Page optimization
2. Off-page optimization
But before you do those process above…please do a little research on your competitor…. How to do that? Consider it like this….your blog is talking about computer and software….
1. Open the Google.com search page
2. Type in your targeted keywords. For example: Software update. If you want to make the search results become more specific you may use the quote tag. For example: “Software updates”
3. Then see how much competitors are listed in the top right of the windows…
4. Open the top 3 website that you found on the first page.
5. When the webpages are completely opened. Press CTRL+U on your windows for each webpage. It will open the window of PAGE SOURCE CODE.
6. Try to find any code like this:
<meta content=’THEIR TARGETED KEYWORDS’ name=’keywords’/>
7. Copy all the keywords that you can found as their targeted keywords in those meta tags.
8. If they don’t use any meta tags,…maybe it’s a good sign for you that the whole process will be a lot easier… We hope ^_^
9. Now, write an article that contains your targeted keywords. Make sure that you put your targeted keyword in the first paragraph and bold it.
10. OK, it’s time to do those two process above.

Get Targetted Traffic from Social Bookmark

Hmm, my blogger manual never talk about this before. But this can be your alternative if you think that the method above is to hard for you…. You can re-aim to get your targeted visitors from another source…and what is it? You can get a good targeted traffic from bookmark sites. For example del.icio.us, furl.net, spurl.net, etc.

How can you do this?
Well, just open the websites of those social bookmark service. Create your own account, and then you can start to post your bookmark.
What is the benefit of being listed in social bookmark services?

You can get targeted traffic easily. It is because when you post your URL you will be asked to put tag on your URL, and that’s what make the traffic from social bookmarks a targeted traffic.
Make your blog indexed immediately. It’s because spider robots are quite often visit the bookmark sites. If your link is listed in the bookmark sites, your blog will be indexed quickly. And sure, your blog will be revisited more often than usually.
It makes your rank become better and better.

The problem is there are a lot of bookmark service out there (over than 100 sites). If you are looking for traffic for each article you have, then it will be a very handful duty. What is Googlebot?

Well today I’m going to have an interview with Googlebot. We are going to talk about Googlebot. Let’s call Googlebot as he. He is a celebrity in the internet. All of the webmasters are expecting for Googlebot visitation. They pimp their website to give a good impression. And today,…I’m going to interview the most expected robot for my blogger manual… Please welcome….Googlebot!

Googlebot : Hi….hello everybody….

Me : Wow, thanks for your time…. How are you today?

Googlebot : Oh…I’m fine…thanks for asking

Me : And what is your activity presently?

Googlebot : Well, you know….I patrol all over the web to find a new webpage and decide the pagerank for the whole webpages. Do you have any webpages?

Me : Oh…yes! I’ll publish this interview on my blogger manual blog?

Googlebot : Oh,…may I know your URL….

Me : My URL is http://tutorial-for.blogspot.com . Do you know it?

Googlebot : Oh…sure…I have your URL in my directories. Unfortunatelly, I’ve just decreased the pagerank for your homepage?

Me : Hahahaha…never mind. After all, it’s my own fault…. Oh…I have some questions from my friends to ask you…. What can we do to get your pagerank?

Googlebot : Well, your question has gone too far. In fact, you should ask …how to make me visit your blog…first? Because, If I can’t see your blog…you won’t get any point in my result page.

Me : Oh yes, …..please tell me?

Googlebot : If you want me to visit your blog, you have to build a connection to the web in internet. Consider that I’m a spider…I won’t reach any place if there is no web connection to that place. How,…can you build that connection? Simple enough… You can ask another webmaster that has indexed page to create a backlink to your blog…. If I visit the page and I see the tunnel to your blog, I’ll visit your…. Or, you can simply ask for to be crawled at http://www.google.com/addurl . Your URL will be placed in my waiting list… and I’ll visit the webpage within days to 3 weeks….

Me : Oh…that’s why you found my blog even I did not make any registration. You found my blog through my inbound link…

Googlebot : That’s right

Me : Oh…my next question is…When you visit a webpage…what is your activity on that page?

Googlebot : Sure I’ll read all the webpage’s content, collect the keyword for my database, find any format that violate my Term of Service, and I look for tunnels/link that can lead me to other webpage.

Me: Oh, I just want to know….How can I make my article listed in your result page for a targeted keywords?

Googlebot : Easy…put your keywords in your title tag, meta keywords tag, meta descriptions tag, posted article’s title, your first twenty words in article…spread the keywords in your article, and close the article with your keyword. The first keyword in your article should be bolded. ….and the most important thing is the anchor text of your inbound link. What is anchor text? It’s the word that your link partners use to make a link to you. It sounds like a vote for your blog in my ear (If I have one)….

Me: Wow, is that enough to be listed in your result page?

Googlebot : Yes, but I can’t give you any guarantee that your page will be listed in the first page…. I think it will be enough if your targeted keywords is a low competition keywords. But if you target for a high competition keyword…you will be asked more….

Me: Oh…what is it?

Googlebot : I’ll ask for your link popularity, the number of your visitors, and I’ll consider the age of your webpage

Me: Oh,…that’s why people try to increase their pagerank and alexa rank….to compete for a high competition keywords….hmmm…. I see … I see… By the way, how to get a high pagerank….

Googlebot : Hahaha….easy you must have a lot of backlinks or high link popularity to achieve a high pagerank…. Do you?

Me: Hehehehe … I did some link exchange for that….

Googlebot : What?!!! I don’t like it. Link exchange is a method to manipulate your pagerank…. You should get your backlink by increase the quality of your contents….

Me : Oh, so you don’t like the method. Then why don’t you punish bloggers who use this method?

Googlebot : I can’t. It’s because I can’t feel the difference between link exchange and a normal reciprocal links. But you know....I don’t have to worry about anything. Reciprocal link has a lower value than a one-way backlink. It makes me can see the link to a high quality contents.

Me : Oh…I see… My next question is …”How to decide the pagerank that you will give to a page?”

Googlebot : Easy…consider it like this… I make a visitation to a page which have PR3, and the page has 70 links on it. One of those links is directed to your blog. How much poin you will have from a blog like this? Easy…your point is (3/70)*0,85= 0,036.
If your page is indexed but has no backlink, then your point is only 0,15.

Me: Hah….it’s to small….If I want to achieve PR3, then I must look for …. Hmmmm…. Let me count first… 3-0,15 = 2,85……then 2,85 : 0,036 = 80 links…. But, I found a blog which have over 100 links but their PR is 0. Is there something wrong with my calculation?

Googlebot : Hehehe….those +100 links is a reciprocal links, and that means I have to iterate the value until I get a steady state value. Which means the point will be decreased. It’s just like water which always looks for a flat surface.
After all….not all of your link partners have PR3…. Most of them has a lower PR….and don’t forget, most of them have blogs with over 100 links (The link exchanger)

Me: Oh….I see … that’s why most of the PR3 blogs in my country must have +200 backlinks to get the PR? Oh, before I forget,…Yesterday my friend with a PR3 blog found that his blog’s PR has been lowered to PR2….why?

Googlebot : Hmm….consider it like this… Your link partners had 70 links when you asked for a link exchange. But today he has 200 links on his page…. And that means the point that he pass to you is getting smaller and smaller. That’s why if you want to have a steady PR, your backlinks should be one way backlinks. If your backlinks come from link exchange activity, then you must always do the link exchange to keep or improve your pagerank…..

Me: When you will visit my blog again?

Googlebot: Well, it’s depent on your luck. If I found a blog with your link on it…I’ll come to your blog again…

Me: Hahaha….so there is a luck factor in this business….

Googlebot : Yup…. Oh…don’t forget…I have some limitation. I will get some troubles with a page that contains to many links… If your link is the #156 position,….probably I won’t see the link, or I will find your link, but after some visitations….hehe

Me : Oh…that’s not a good news for me….

Create list of contents of your blog

I found this article when the writer invite me to visit his blog. He made a script to post list of our blog’s contents. I read this in Infotentangblog.blogspot.com. I think the article is a very important knowledge for me and maybe so many blogger out there looking for a script like this. The writer who call himself as Copycat 91 also give a permission to republish this article…and that’s why I post this article in my blogger manual.

You can change the number of words that will be shown for each article by changing “jumlah kata dalam ringkasan” value…

To prevent this page shown up in the home page, you can set the “POST OPTION” at the bottom left. Change the date of post a few days ago, or a month ago,…it’s up to you

Blogger Manual | Report of my experiment on Alexa and Google PR (an irony)

This time my blogger manual want to talk about Alexa and Pagerank. After doing some experiment I found my own conclucion. And this is what I’m going to share here…. I found that we have to optimize three main factors to be listed in the first page of Google….
1. Onpage factors (title tag, meta tag, outbound link, template design, and H1-H6 tag)
2. Visitors factors ( the number of people who visit your blog / Alexa rank)
3. Backlinks facktors (the number of inbound links to your blog / Google Pagerank)

I’ve made some experiment about onpage factors and I’ve written some article about this. You could read the articles by clicking on this link. I found that a good onpage factors can help to make our article listed in the Google Search engine result page….but, for the low competition keywords. If you want your article listed for the high competition keywords, you must optimized the three main factors above….plus the age of your blog (so don’t change your URL or you will lost all the record).
Tips to increase your alexa rank….
1. Blogwalking, you can do a smart blogwalking by joining this program
2. Register your blog to social bookmarker like Digg.com, del.icio.us, etc
3. Post your article into article directories
4. Send e-mail to your friends and ask them to visit your blog.
5. Optimize your article to be listed in search engine
I don’t believe that Alexa toolbar can help to improve our alexa rank. I’ve made a statistic that compare a blog with alexa toolbar and a blog without alexa toolbar…. There is no different at all.

Tips to increase your pagerank…. As you can see my blogger manual pagerank is “No Information” status. Hahaha….yesterday it was 3, and thanks to some experiment that I’ve done…it returns to zero….what a crap….but at least I found this some conclusion and I just want to share with you.
1. Google seems to crawl from the youngest webpage in their directories to the oldest, so if you are a new blog…your backlink won’t be counted when you’re crawled first. You must wait for the next crawl…
2. When you put a backlink from other blog, there is no guarantee that googlebot will crawl from that blog. Why? Because Google have some limitation. It only crawl for 100 links, and if your backlink is put in the page that contains to many links. Probably your link won’t be crawled.
3. How to help Googlebot to find your link? Simple you have to make a backlink to blogs that contain your link. That’s why googlebot is called spiderbot. It can’t suddently appear in a page. It crawl from a page to page. To make it sure that googlebot crawls all of your backlinks, you must open all the “doors” to the blogs that contain your link. How to make sure that Googlebot walk in to the door? Do not put your blogroll at the footer….probably, your article and sidebar contain to many link, so the link to your link partners won’t be crawled. But, if your blog’s age is old enough you don’t have to worry about anything. The best place to put your blogroll is on the main area, right after your posted articles
4. The Pagerank that you will get is depent on the number of your backlink, and the pagerank of your backlink source. But if you want to achieve 3 point of PR try to collect 200 backlinks.
5. Always check for your backlink….at least once a month…. Does your link deleted or moved to subpage…or are your link partners banned by Google….

My blogger manual is not banned, althought my pagerank is decreased from PR3 to PR0. It becaused of my experiment. I really didn’t expect that googlebot wouldn’t see all my outbound links…. For a new blog like mine…it's a totally big mistake…. I encrypted all of my outbound links, and lately I realized that spider couldn’t see encrypted codes…. It’s just too bad to be true…. Hehehe….what a crap…!
